This motorcycle only campsite is situated at the foot of the
French Alps and makes a good stop if you are either heading for the Alps
or traveling through them into France. The camp is made up of large
and well shaded areas dissected by a very cool and refreshing gently
flowing river. The facilities are very good, with pool, bar and restaurant
area being the main focal point for most people. If you like your camping
to be a quiet affair this site may seem noisy as it is popular with families,
but it is possible to find a nice spot to put your tent, just have a good
wander around before you pitch up. There is a well equipped workshop
if you need to do any running repairs or routine maintenance to keep you
on the road.

Situated 35 miles from Clermont-Ferrand, Route
99 is nothing special as moto camps go, the camping area is stepped and
there is no shade for when it gets very hot in the summer. The bar and
pool area are part of the farmhouse which also contains the very
good toilets and showers. If you arrive late and don't want to put up
your tent there are bunks available. Don't know if it was the wrong time
of the year (August) when we were there, but there didn't seem to
be that friendly feel about the place, friendly might be the wrong
word but it didn't have any vibes.

This is our favourite. The atmosphere is very relaxed with
a friendly bar and swimming pool. The camping area is also well shaded and
the facilities are also very good. If you are lucky enough to be there when
they have live music nights, then you’re in for a Top night.
This site is a possible first night stop if you are southbound from Calais
and are heading to the Pyrenees or into Spain, whether you are mile munching
south or just touring round France this MotoCamp is well worth checking
out.
This is the 24 hour party Moto campsite! However the bar
funnels the sound at the camping area and makes sleeping difficult when
you've had enough. It is also operates a complicated point system to work
out you're bill for food, drink and camping charges which can quickly add
up...

Route 66 Hotel was started in 2002 to cater exclusively for
bikers. It has a 4 acre field for camping with toilets and showers and its
own self service kitchen. They have free indoor lock up parking for about
40 bikes. The hotel itself has 11 bedrooms (4 en-suite) and a bar. In the
courtyard are 4 self service Bar-b-q pits, a swimming pool is planned for
2004.

This hotel has 15 renovated rooms with toilet, bathroom
and new beds. The Dutch owner rides a Harley Davidson Superglide (Twin-Cam)
and speaks English and German. There is a huge beer-garden where you can
enjoy the sun, and have a good chat with other bikers. In the evening you
can play jeu de boules (bowls) on the ‘court de petanque', or just
enjoy the good atmosphere in the bar. The hotel is situated in the mountains
(Vosges) at an altitude of 731 meters, surrounded by woods. Roadbooks are
available. You can park your motorbike in the oldest tunnel of Europe, which
is part of the property and advanced booking is advisable
