Fisherground Campsite
|
This motorcycle friendly campsite is a nice little basic site that allows
small campfires. Just down the road is Hardknott and Wrynose Pass. These
are 1291 and 1281 foot high passes, the road is steep (1 in 3 gradient)
and narrow. Not a drive for the faint hearted. Hardknott is the most difficult
being narrower, steeper and with hairpin bends. The scenery from the top
is magnificent.. but then you have to come down. During holiday periods, it is likely to be full of kids. For those who find this off-putting, there is a quiet motorcycle friendly campsite, just a few hundred yards further up the road towards the HardKnott pass called Hollins Farm. |

Roundhill
Campsite
|
A Motorbike friendly site (motorcycles have their own field) situated in the new forest. The wild ponies wander about the site. It has basic facilities with no showers but has washing cubicles. Beaulieu motor museum and the Sammy Miller museum is just down the road. Ignore the telephone number on the web site which shows the place better than the forestry websites. Use the number on the left. | |
